--- Comment #6 from Mark K markk@clara.co.uk 2013-05-02 09:52:34 CDT --- This bug seems to still be present with Wine 1.5.29.
Another program which crashes like this is the menu on some PC Format magazine cover CDs from the late 1990s.
The menu program seems to be written with Visual Basic 4. Running under Wine, winevdm.exe crashes like this: fixme:ole:OaBuildVersion16 If you get version error messages, please report them fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter16 (0x38bdfe,0x38be06),stub! fixme:ole:CoRegisterClassObject16 ({a4c4671c-499f-101b-bb78-00aa00383cbb},0x15b298,0x00000001,0x00000001,0x841b7c),stub fixme:hook:SetWindowsHookEx16 hook type 6 broken in Win16 fixme:ole:SetErrorInfo16 stub: (0, (nil)) wine: Call from 0x7b83b593 to unimplemented function ole2disp.dll16.VARIANTINIT, aborting wine: Unimplemented function ole2disp.dll16.VARIANTINIT called at address 0x7b83b593 (thread 0025), starting debugger... err:dbghelp_dwarf:eval_expression Couldn't read memory at da68 err:dbghelp_dwarf:eval_expression Couldn't read memory at da68
I have created an archive containing only the menu-related files from PC Format CD 46, May 1997. It's about 2.7MB, URL is http://www.multiupload.nl/QT4V70DVZ8
Download the archive, unpack to your Wine C:\ directory, then run PCFMENU.EXE
