Version 9.6 available for download doesn't crash on startup, and I'm able to
open example data file with it. Annoying issue is splash window that doesn't go
away, but that's not a subject of this report. Oldest version available on
their website is 6.50d, and it starts just fine, example document displays
without errors.

Once again, I don't think such report cleanup is useful.
