Installing corefonts had no effect. I tried both 32 & 64bit prefixes with the same result.
Sorry, I overlooked your first comment and tested the application in the default WinXP mode (it works when corefonts installed). If I install the application in Windows 7 mode it fails indeed even though corefonts is installed.
