--- Comment #2 from nix@esperi.org.uk 2007-08-18 20:10:20 --- Ooo, winetricks looks really nifty.
wsh56 404s on me, as does wsh51, but vcrun6 followed by wsh56vb works, and changes the error :) now I get this when I try to run the installer:
nix@hades 1108 .../c:/windows/temp% wine 'e:\QT\QuickTimeInstaller' fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" fixme:advapi:LookupAccountNameW (null) L"nix" (nil) 0x34f82c (nil) 0x34f830 0x34f824 - stub fixme:advapi:LookupAccountNameW (null) L"nix" 0x196910 0x34f82c 0x196630 0x34f830 0x34f824 - stub err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {6c736db1-bd94-11d0-8a23-00aa00b58e10} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {6c736db1-bd94-11d0-8a23-00aa00b58e10} could be created for context 0x1 err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {6c736db1-bd94-11d0-8a23-00aa00b58e10} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {6c736db1-bd94-11d0-8a23-00aa00b58e10} could be created for context 0x1 err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.
As far as I can from a casual google tell this is something from Visual Studio, probably "Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Common7\Tools\Analyzer\vaiec.dll."
Before I dig into trying to get hold of that I'll try installing the downloadable QuickTime player instead, if it looks even vaguely similar in size and name to the 20Mb lump on this CD, and see if that works.
