Summary: Removing default applications bindings on installation Product: Wine Version: 1.3.22 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: xavier.poirot@dalaen.com
There is an annoying "feature" of wine, during installation.
It is adding entries in ~/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache to bind, for examples .txt files to Notepad inside Wine (the Windows Notepad). Due to that "hidden" behaviour, the default program to view some kinds of files are bound to Wine, instead of simple Linux programs (eg. above, Notepad instead of GEdit).
It would be nice to prevent creating those binds, so they're not altered. Especially for very common files such as text-files...
My distribution is ArchLinux 64 bits.
