--- Comment #99 from kmsiwiec@gmail.com 2010-06-07 15:24:53 --- CPU: Intel Atom N270 RAM: 1.5 GB OS: Ubuntu Netbook 10.04 i686 Wine: 1.2rc2 (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa)
I updated to kernel 2.6.34, but the bug is still there.
On mainline kernel 2.6.34 (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/) and either ALSA or OSS sound driver checked, within 5-25 mins of gameplay the game crashes (graphics hang, audio loops, forced quit needed) with the following dialog:
"The program heroes3 has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. [...]"
The associated console output is just:
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000902 at address 0x220076f1 (thread 0021), starting debugger... Killed
On backported kernel 2.6.34-5 (https://launchpad.net/~kernel-ppa/+archive/ppa) and ALSA sound driver checked, the crash dialog is instead:
"Internal errors - invalid parameters received"
