This new bug originated from bug 33182.

macOS related documentation is missing instructions how to set up mac driver in
wine:

You need to make a REG_SZ value under Drivers, named Graphics (not a key):
[Software\Wine\Drivers]
"graphics"="mac,x11"

You can also do:
$ unset $DISPLAY
if running from a terminal.
