Thanks.  Oddness in the log persists.  For example,

Adapter name:   lo
    Adapter index:  2 (0x2)
    Adapter id:     eth0

Why does it think the adapter name lo, I wonder?  When I run a little test
program to print out the adapter names and DNS servers, I certainly don't see
lo assigned to every interface.  And what's the meaning of the "Adapter id"?

Adapter DNS:    None

And why is this still true?

Another possible culprit in your log:
fixme:winsock:WSAEnumNameSpaceProvidersW (0x3282b0 0x3292d0) Stub!

I'm just grasping at straws, really.
