Hello,
Let's be nice.
Sorry if you thought I was being rude, that was not my intention.
I landed here because I followed the steps displayed while using Crossover. So, if that's not correct/current, please fix the information shared with users.
Well, that would be up to Crossover to do, not Wine, as they ship a modified version.
Crossover uses Wine. Buying Crossover is the best way to support the Wine project, is it not?
It is a good way to support Wine, yes. However, as Jactry said, if you pay for Crossover, you are entitled to their support. WineHQ doesn't support it.
So if you don't want to approach this issue (which I think is a Wine or Winetricks issue), please reply here giving me some pointers that I could add to my support request when writing to Codeweavers so that they have everything they need to start looking into this issue.
If you think this is a Winetricks issue, that should be reported to https://github.com/Winetricks/winetricks, not here. While I do work on Winetricks, that's a separate project and problems with it should be reported there, not here.
