Hello,
--- quote --- Yeah, I put a wii disk in and it doesn't pick it up. Though linux isn't seeing the disk either...wine doesn't see it with/without manually adding the drive in winecfg. --- quote ---
"linux isn't seeing the disk either" = unable to mount? Then it's certainly not a Wine problem. After some research and it seems a plain DVD/R won't work anyway for dumping Wii media. There only exist some PC DVD drives that can dump Wii DVD for whatever pirating purpose.
--- quote --- Use a LG-8164b or LG-8163b or LG-8162b or LG-8161b dvd drive. It might even work with other hitachi drives with GDR in their name (just try, but don't complain). ... --- quote ---
If you are not using any of these listed drives please don't bother with something questionable that neither Linux kernel nor Wine can do.
I was able to see a simple data disc with the application though the dumping obviously fails because the application expects a special media layout.
Regards
That's not the point. As shown in the screenshot in "rawdump in win7" it shows a drive to try to use. In wine for me, I can't even get there. I even tried running the app as root and it still wouldn't show any drives to try to use. And the same drives are functional in linux for me.
I will say again, rawdump on wine for me shows no drives, using isoburn does, isobuster as well; no drives is the issue.
Rawdump on windows shows active disc drives (compatible or not).
Don't make this issue more complex, keep it simple. Forget the purpose of this application and help me figure out exactly how to get the app in wine to see cdrom drives. Simple as that.
