--- Comment #25 from James Hudson xtroce@gmail.com 2012-03-06 20:10:04 CST --- Hi, i got the same comment with Civ 5 and the alsa loopback device through jack. I used the same configuration as Antoniofor that matter. I attached the logs of civ5 starting with the default configuration, and one with civ5 started with the regkey for dsound's default bitrate at 44800. stuttering is still there with the bitrate changed. I didn't run the tests yet but will do so as soon as i can find the time. What also occurred was that the stuttering got worse the longer the program an and then totally stopped after a minute or so. this is captured in the default log attached. I also tried to switch jackd's sample rate to 44100 but i think this is kind of pointless, as the problem is in the alsa part as far as i understood the discussion., nm for the completeness here's my jack configuration: -T -ndefault -v -r -dalsa -dhw:1 -r48000 -p1024 -n2 wine used hw:0 as it should, for this is the loopback device. so the config as you can see is no-realtime 48000 samplerate and 1024 frames, with 2 periods.
