Thanks, with msvcp71 overridden to native, irrespective of msvcr71 or msvcrt,
the game will work. That is to say, I can get past the autoupdater. I haven't
tested the game itself.

I am using wine 1.7.25, as provided by WineHQ's ubuntu PPA (all the details are
linked in the forums).

For the record, the client is opensource. The original code is at
https://foundry.openuru.org/hg/CWE-ou, while the updated client is at
https://github.com/H-uru/Plasma. Unfortunately neither have been updated to
work under linux.
