I just used a clean WINEPREFIX and loaded my valid running AO and guess what ?
The shop crashed. 
It was fixed after i installed the corefonts via winetricks.

Is this the illegal addressed threads, caused by non existing registry (font-)
entries so it returns something corrupt ?
Or is the fonts thingy a secondary problem, other then the one related to your
finding of a crashed frame inside the RtlCaptureStackBackTrace function ??
