OK, so it would be better to do a final check on a native Windows system,
right?

And if the problem also occurs there we simply resort to changing the Serious
Engine config. My question however is: What if there are more applications of
that sort? And what if this application doesn't offer any way to configure the
parameters of the requested pixelformat?

Could a pixelformat "override" be a solution?
