Did you patch the game to 1.04 ? Not sure if it matters, just checking.

There seems to be no notable difference between all 3 modes, that is after you
switch to fullscreen, then switch back - initially, there is some glitch that
makes (for example) closing confirmation dialog display in the top left corner,
partially covered by the main window content.

Also, consider adding author of currently last (23) comment in that old bug to
CC, as he takes active part in wine development.
