The same procedure works for IE 5.x too (just makes the installation process even more convoluted).
So is it expected for the builtin inseng to be incompatible with IE then?
It's not that it's incompatible, it's that it's not implemented at all. Previously it worked because we happened to load native inseng by mistake.
