Bug #: 34000 Summary: Office 2007: installation usually aborts with "Installation language not supported." Product: Wine Version: 1.6-rc4 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: iainbuc@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
I cleared out the .wine folder, mounted an ISO of "Office Home and Student 2007" then attempted installation:
WINEARCH=win32 win32 /mnt/office/setup.exe
Following the installation instructions on the website I've run winecfg and ensured that "Windows XP" mode is set. Most of the time the only dialog that appears is a small message box saying, "Installation language not supported."
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with Wine 1.6-rc4.
I've attached a trace from a failing run prefixed with WINEDEBUG=+msgbox,+relay,+seh,+tid
Very, very occasionally (in about 10-15 runs I had two successes) it will manage to proceed, allowing me to enter my license key and then select components. It will then crash.
I'm attaching two traces (bzipped) - one from a failing run and a truncated one from a successful run.
I can provide a full trace from the semi-successful run, but it is fairly large (3.1MB bzipped, 250MB raw).
