freetype with antialias

This is good information.
I downloaded freetype 2.5.0, defined FT_CONFIG_OPTION_SUBPIXEL_RENDERING in
ftoption.h and installed it. The log (attached) now shows

trace:font:is_subpixel_rendering_enabled subpixel rendering is enabled

But there is a last trace message that still shows "NOT enabled".
Not able to figure out why :-(
