A feeble attempt at a git-ready patch

I'd like to thank Wai Ling Tsang for his code contributions on which this patch
is derived.

FYI, I probably broke a ton of Wine patching conventions with this diff, but it
should work.

One caveat though: I can't get the Wai Ling's new code working on my Intel card
and Wine is giving nothing but a black screen and sounds when I run my games.
