[Bug 9572] Source games crash at startup

I have tested the proposed patch, and I can now start HL2.

But...

It crashes after the bloke with a valve in his face appears.
Something along the lines of "Engine Error".

I can also not launch HL2 from within steam.

I will upload the console output.
