--- Comment #296 from Pablo Salgado chatocl@yahoo.com 2013-05-09 23:15:02 CDT --- I tested wined3d: Use glBufferSubDataARB for dynamic buffer uploads patch on:
ATI Radeon 6600M I only try SC2, it worked the same way that "standard" wine included in ubuntu. fps were almost the same, graphical quality was the same.
Nvidia 650 ti SC2 fps were higher 20/30% Company of Heroes almost the same fps CivV it crashed after an hour or two. After the crash I run it without the GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS/ libpthread and it was stable
only for NVIDIA gpu I used a modified start script that includes export __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 export LD_PRELOAD="libpthread.so.0 libGL.so.1"
for both I disabled debug
Wine 1.5.29 ubuntu-wineppa Wine 1.5.29 ubuntu+nvidiapatch home compiled Ubuntu 12.04 LTS nvidia drivers 317.19 Catalyst drivers 13.4
I play a lot of starcraft. From now on I will be always using patched wine! if someone start maintaining a ppa I would be happy if the pach is included in wine I will be VERY happy
