Have you tried "wineboot -r"?

It is true that "wineboot -e/-s" don't seem to work. I tried looking for a
related bug I couldn't find one. If it isn't logged then it probably should be.

This bug, however, is invalid (Background apps should continue to run, as they
do under Windows).
