After upgrade have you renamed ~/.wine directory and reinstalled your windows program? If not, do that.
Also what does 'grep 127 /etc/hosts' say?
Thanks for your quick answer. I didn't read anywhere I should rename ~/.wine directory: what should it be renamed to? In the mean time I saved the old one as ~.wineOLD and ran again wine: a new .wine dir was created but I get the same warning as reported ...
What do you mean by 'reinstalled your windows program'? Should I boot my PC with win$ozz and undergo the whole process of re-installation? Never! I'll rather stick on to the older wine version that works perfectly ... ;)
This is the result of 'grep 127 /etc/hosts':
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost # deby 127.0.0.1 deby.ei.hnet deby
