[Bug 16835] Crashes on start - shows only splash screen - comctl32.dll dependency

Just to be clear, I didn't really think that this was a new bug. It's a
slightly different behaviour - instead of bombing out when I start Laridian
under Wine, the Laridian splash screen appears and then nothing else much
happens until I terminate it. The log file I have already provided comes from
this behaviour.

I'll file a new bug though if it will help. Please confirm.
