I can confirm this, I got it working (even keyboard), however when I try to
load a level it crashes.
We are close to get it working.

I installed DX 9.0c like in this guide:
http://wine-review.blogspot.com/2007/11/directx-90c-on-linux-with-wine.html
after that I set dinput8.dll to native (for keyboard, otherwise it doesn't
work).
Installation went fine, applying 1.2 patch went without problems.
