I don't think it's a dupe of 23516. In that bug, the sounds play, but a buffer underflow causes *all* sounds to drop out in times of high cpu utilization for most people. I'm not affected by bug 23516 at all unless I run folding@home in the background at the same time I play the game and crank the graphics to max (i980x CPU).
However, bug 27166 is 100% consistent for everyone irrelevant of CPU load, and only affects a single track of sounds. I don't think it's caused by the same underrun situation as 23516.
