The game starts properly in Xephyr now, I cannot reproduce the original issue
in wine 1.6 or 1.9.12.

Also tested in wine 1.1.44, 1.2.3 and 1.4.1 but all crash with different
problems. I vote WORKSFORME but it wouldn't hurt for a Nvidia/Ati user to test
again.

To test in Xephyr:

Xephyr -screen 800x600x16 :1 &
DISPLAY=:1 wine midtrial.exe

(assuming GNU/Linux as OS).
