[Bug 9898] Virtual Moon Atlas 3.5 expert Mostly black drawing

I rechecked the three versions installed from 3.5  version the virtualmoon.exe
and vmalight.exe seem to render without a problem. The vmaexpert.exe version
with the 3d render shows the same bug as in the original bug report. When
zoomed out all the way at start the black with dots and labels show for s split
second then vanish. Zooming in more then 50% on the slider will cause the 3D
drawing to look like it should but the labels just flash and then are erased. 
This is with Mint 14 and Mesa DRI Intel(r) Ivybridge mobile.
