I think the best solution to this enhancement request is [via] setting a
certain shell variable, e.g.

DESKTOPINTEGRATION=0 or DE_INTEGRATION=0 or NO_DE_INTEGRATION=1 or whatever
else.

Using registry for setting this option isn't the best idea, because a user
might not have ~/.wine at all when he'd like to install a new application.
