Notepad in a Japanese locale with missing fonts

The screenshot shows the 'black squares' issue mentioned in the first comment.
To reproduce:
$ locale -a | grep ja_JP
ja_JP.utf8
$ LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 ./wine notepad

Installing fonts-droid-fallback or fonts-noto-cjk or fonts-ipafont fixes the
display.
