Back to the issue. I think this could be mark as invalid. I took this game to
WinXP and saw really slow menu like you. Maybe slight difference, initially
it's fast, but when i clik on some menu item, screen "rotates" and begins to
_realy_ slow and this remain till clicking on quit. Than final question Quit
Yes/No is fast again.

I would say game bug or not designed for WinXP (it is for Win98).
