Hello Sal,

your Wine version 1.4 is ancient and no longer supported.
Please upgrade to a recent Wine version.
If you don't know how to do this visit WineHQ user forums and get help there
(http://forum.winehq.org/).

The app works pretty well here.
I created a demo account and logged into some brokers.

$ sha1sum mt4setup.exe 
344e51b31043d481cfa39e7ab222e6c51ee7565e  mt4setup.exe

$ du -sh mt4setup.exe 
476K    mt4setup.exe

$ wine --version
wine-1.7.16
