There is a workaround for this.
Modify your shortcut to launch
...../drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Battle.net/Battle.net.exe
DAMN! Amazingly this really works. Makes me wonder then what is supposed to be the purpose of the "launcher.exe" then, if it's not even needed?
