Can I somehow check that I placed the registry setting at the correct place and
it was detected correctly by wine?

When I select "Auto Detect" in the "Advanced" section of the video config menu
in GRAW, it will tell me that my video card is not supported, but set all
settings to "High".
When I leave textures at high, I will run into this error otherwise into bug
#17879. (Which probably is already a little bit further down the road.)
