I still have this problem with :
- wine-1.1.21
- ubuntu 9.04
- Card: HDA Intel / Chip: Conexant CX20561 (Hermosa)
- winecfg "alsa / driver emulation"
- 64 bits system
I guess alsa goes through pulseaudio.
Can you try with a 32 bit version o Linux?
