Soldiers: Heroes of WoW II +d3d,+d3d8 log

I found this bug using the search function of Bugzilla and I'm quite sure
another game is affected by this bug: Soldiers: Heroes of World War II.
Silent Heroes is essentially a standalone expansion of Soldiers: Heroes of WoW
II, and looking into the +d3d logs the similarities are prominent.

Soldiers: Heroes of WoW II shows a splash screen on startup then an error
message is shown: 'Program will be terminated'.
Adjusting the amount of the video memory in Wine's registry doesn't help.
