In order to run 32-bit apps Wine is ALWAYS 32-bit, it is also not really related to the amount of physical memory in the system, this is about virtual memory which is 4GB on a 32-bit system. Read up on wikipedia about virtual memory if you want to know what it is. This bug is a Wine bug in which we don't leave enough 'linux' virtual memory around. the proposed patch makes win32 apps use 'win32' memory.
