...as you can see, it didn't take long at all for me to crash the old WINEPREFIX. I think this may be something to do with cruft that was somehow left in from older wine versions. How that's possible, I have NO IDEA. But this install which has been in place since 7.7 does this, whereas my brand new 7.19 install using a fresh WINEPREFIX doesn't, regardless what I throw at it. I'm going to rm -rf this prefix, the mv the new prefix to ~/.wine - that should solve my problems.
