I think I talked to Henri about this behavior in the context of an OSX bug, and he mentioned that it was fixed in Mesa git. I can't tell for sure if it's really the same problem, but Mesa git may be worth a try(or maybe fglrx, but Mesa git passes the wine d3d tests, while fglrx doesn't)
