--- Comment #1 from Brendan Shanks bshanks@codeweavers.com --- The installer you're running (npp.8.5.2.Installer.x64.exe) is a 32-bit Windows EXE, and Wine's support for running 32-bit EXEs on 64-bit-only macOS is still experimental. Instead of using the installer, running the portable x64 version of Notepad++ should work.
