So, I'll put it in simple terms:
IMHO, this starts looking just like winealsa case did:
"snd_pcm_delay may reach zero, but doesn't ever have to".
Here, it's "DUCET may give you good results for string
*sorting*, but by no means it has to".

IOW, wrong assumption.
