err:wgl:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo couldn't initialize OpenGL, expect problems
after stumbling on this, I've enabled GLX extension on my X (which thanks to old uninstalled nvidia drivers was not loading), and the problems disappeared, both on notepad.exe and other applications.
