Summary: Error reading DLL attribute in TurboTax Product: Wine Version: 0.9.17. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-winelib AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: josh@barbanel.net
I installed TurboTax 2006 using Crossover 6.0.0 and it worked o.k., except that it could not update the program with updated tax files. The program error message indicated that the program was "unable to verify your Internet Client Dll file's Internet signature." (error 9124)
According to a support person at Turbotax, this was due to a new check introduced this year to make sure a shared DLL had the correct company name on it. He suggested wine was unable to correctly read the company name using the system call VerQueryValueA.
I am running Fedora 2.6.19-1.2895.fc6 x86_64 and wine 0.9.17. The wine log shows a few messages about the time I asked for the update:
