I'm having a similar problem, only it's with certain particle effects appearing
as solid red.  I only noticed this after I upgraded from wine-1.1.24 (if I
remember correctly) to wine-1.1.38 and no matter what settings I tweak I can't
seem to get it to disappear.  It's always in the same places.
