--- Comment #10 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2009-07-30 11:18:06 --- Hi Scott,
(In reply to comment #9)
Ken are you using the Ubuntu packages?
I'm still on Ubuntu 8.10 but using the WineHQ repos, so I've just tested again on 1.1.25.
Do you have an applications->wine folder at all?
Yep, that's there. Other shortcuts have been created ok.
Have you ever manually edited the menu?
Oh yes, all the time.
What does ls /home/scott/.local/share/desktop-directories/ give you? If those files got corrupted somehow then there would still be an issue even after a "clean" install.
Loads of shortcuts I didn't know existed. Deleted them and tried again. The correct shortcuts are created in /home/test/.local/share/applications/wine/Programs but they are not shown in Applications-->Wine, and still appear in "Other". The .desktop files are also recreated in /home/test/.local/share/desktop-directories/.
I can't see how this is a Wine bug, as it seems to be doing what it is supposed to, and it's likely to be something in Ubuntu or the WM.
Would anyone be able to confirm one way or another?
