Can somebody PLEASE mark this issue as resolved?
The initial issue has been fixed for almost a week already.

If you're still experiencing issues with the game, make sure you're running the
LATEST released version and run the game in Windows XP compatibility mode, like
literally EVERYONE else has been since ALWAYS.

The fact that the game does not run on anything higher than XP compatibility is
not related to the current bug report and any additional comment regarding that
problem should be posted under https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45666
