Is wine version in the git repository
when I check it out the latest version (1.1.1)
or is it the latest development version?

I wonder that the regression has something to do
with key events. The output of wine is:
err:d3d:WineD3D_ChoosePixelFormat Can't find a suitable iPixelFormat

so I thought it must be a regression in wined3d.
