It is possible that the game is using an overlay. Or at least trying to use
one, but not actually doing it because we do not set overlay capability flags.

Does the second pointer work on Windows 7 with Aero enabled? If not, it's quite
certainly an overlay. (If it works it can still be an overlay. Win7 still
supports them, but with some limitations compared to WinXP.)
