(In reply to comment #22) I sent the patch to wine-patches. Now Universal Combat crashes after calling the assembler with a (still unsupported) ps_1_4 shader. Working around that, the game continues a bit further only to crash after a call to the stubbed D3DXLoadSurfaceFromFileInMemory function.
