Summary: Red Hat and Fedora Core binaries are out of date Product: WineHQ.com Version: unspecified Platform: PC URL: http://www.winehq.org/site/download-rh OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: misc-web AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: rivanvx@fastmail.fm
If you take a look at RH/FC download page, you notice that binaries are out of date. I know that it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain packages, and maintanier sometimes doesn't have that much time, so I suggest the following:
For FC3/4/5 add a notice that "Current version of Wine is available in Fedora Extras for Fedora Core versions 3, 4 and 5." and perhaps put a link to extras. ( http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/ ) Then FC3 and FC4 binaries can be easily removed from this page, because users will be able to install it from Extras. That gives less work to package maintainer, so he can perhaps update older binaries a bit more frequently.
